Daisy Gonzalez is a Los Angeles native whose family emigrated from Guatemala. Her experience with environmental racism in her predominantly working class, Latino hometown of South Gate introduced her to organizing. She has organized for responsible development, union jobs, local hiring, and affordable housing policies in Orange County’s Santa Ana community and in New York City’s El Barrio/East Harlem. She holds a master’s degree in Urban Planning from CUNY’s Hunter College.
